Christian Heavy Metal
In the mid 1980's, four guys came together in one accord to do what that felt led to do by the Lord.
RANE STEELE
BUCKY DIAMOND
MARC DAVID
RICH JIVIDEN
They Created the Christian rock band "ARCHANGEL".
Rane Steele (guitar) met Bucky Diamond (vocals) through
a classified ad in a Bay Area musicians magazine. They hit
it off and soon met Rich Jividen (bass) and Marc David
(drums) at a local concert. They soon embarked on a vision
to create a band that was suited for its time. Rane and
Bucky lived quite a distance from Rich and Marc and after
awhile they all moved in together to put their full
committment into this project. Dressed to kill in the style
of the times and musically at the top of their game, they
always wanted to make sure they looked the part and
sounded flawless, but first and foremost was the message:
"Four rockers committed to Christ".
They released a four song demo which got rave reviews
in the national magazine "Heavens Metal". They played
for packed venues all over Florida and they soon got a
financial backer. They had a light show and production
better than most bands at this time, not to mention also
having their own tourbus. God blessed them greatly! But it
was only for a season as styles and times changed,
ACHANGEL never got a chance to reach their full potential.
Bucky Diamond went on to sing for "Sonic Angel"
and then became a well known interior designer, working
for celebrities and television. Marc David now owns a
successful video production company. Rich Jividen is the
youth pastor at his church and Rane Steele owns a web
design company.
Through modern technology, such as Facebook, the four
recently reunited online for the first time in 20 plus years.
All are still in Florida except for Rane Steele, who resides
in Pennsylvania. Who knows what the future may hold......
maybe God's not done with them yet. Until then,
enjoy this website that contains everything we could find
that was left of ARCHANGEL'S legacy!
May Jesus Christ receive all the glory and
don't laugh...... remember, this was the 80's!
